We left for Minneapolis on May 12, 2015. We flew through Denver and had to be de-iced before departing for MSP. This was a sample of the weather front moving east that would catch up with us on our departure date for the Boundary Waters Canoe Area (BWCA) in northern Minnesota. We drove through rain and snow flurries to Ely, MN to pick up our permit and have lunch before launching our canoes around 2PM. We met Phil Sager who we invited to experience his first northern lake kayaking trip.
The weather steadily improved over the 6 days and five nights and we had a great trip. Take a few minutes to peruse the photo gallery and enjoy the beauty, ruggedness, and solitude found when civilization disappears for a few days.
